DEMISE OF DR. CHANG YUNG-FA, FOUNDER AND CHAIRMAN OF EVERGREEN GROUP

We are deeply saddened by the news of the demise of Dr. Chang Yung-Fa, founder, and chairman of Evergreen Group. He is a legend not only in the Taiwan but global shipping Industry. He founded Evergreen Marine Corporation in 1968, which grew into a world leader in the container shipping industry. In 1991, he launched Taiwan’s first private international airline, Eva Air.

Under his leadership, the group has expanded into heavy industrial development, hotels and resorts services. In 2012, he has pledged to give away all his wealth primarily via “Chang Yung-Fa Foundation”. He will be remembered for his corporate values, social responsibility, and philanthropic contributions.
